Why Was TikTok Banned in Some Countries
Many countries have banned or planned to ban TikTok mainly due to national security concerns. Pakistan's ban was largely due to concerns about obscene content that could offend Muslim audiences.

TikTok has been periodically blocked in Indonesia and Bangladesh for no apparent reason, while Japan and Australia are considering the possibility of a ban.
Why Is TikTok Banned in India
India has officially banned TikTok completely due to concerns about the potential threat to national security, cyber security, privacy, and integrity of the data of Indian citizens. Following the border clash between China and India in Ladakh in June 2020, which resulted in the death of several Indian soldiers, 59 Chinese apps including TikTok were banned.
The ban on TikTok in India has come as a major blow to China as India is one of the biggest overseas markets for the app with over 120 million users.
